1. Who is responsible for your information
Brightshade Paints (Pty) Ltd is responsible for the personal information collected through this website. Our manufacturing and head-office address is 77 Whipp Road, Mapleton AH, Boksburg, Gauteng.
For a privacy request or question, email hello@brightshade.co.za with the subject “Privacy request”.
2. Information we collect
Depending on the form you use, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, company or organisation, project or site details, product selections, quantities, pack sizes, colours and the message you send us.
Our hosting and security providers may also process technical request information, such as an IP address, browser information and timestamps, to deliver the website and protect it from abuse.
3. Why we use it
- To respond to your enquiry, product question or contractor request.
- To prepare, confirm and follow up on a quotation request.
- To send the requested confirmation copy to the email address you provide.
- To protect the website and forms against fraud, spam and misuse.
- To keep records required for customer service, contractual or legal purposes.
4. Who receives it
Authorised Brightshade team members receive enquiry and quote information. Quote requests are sent to our hello and sales teams and copied to the address supplied by the requester. Contact enquiries are sent to our hello team.
We use service providers to host and secure the website and to deliver form emails. They process information only to provide those services and may operate infrastructure outside South Africa, subject to the safeguards applicable to those services.
5. Retention and security
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to handle the enquiry or quote and to meet related contractual, warranty, dispute-resolution, record-keeping or legal obligations. We then delete or de-identify it where appropriate.
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, including encrypted connections, server-side validation, access controls and abuse protection. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
6. Cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 only when you choose “Allow analytics” in the website privacy controls. Until then, the Google Analytics script is not loaded and no analytics data is sent. Advertising storage, advertising personalisation and Google Signals are disabled in our website configuration.
When allowed, analytics may record the page visited, approximate location, device and browser category, referring source, product-page visits, selected website links, WhatsApp button use and whether an enquiry was completed. We do not deliberately send names, email addresses, phone numbers, enquiry text, project details or form contents to Google Analytics.
Your analytics choice is stored in your browser. You can change or withdraw it at any time through “Analytics preferences” in the website footer. Withdrawing permission stops future analytics measurement and removes accessible Google Analytics cookies for this website.
Google may process analytics information on infrastructure outside South Africa under its applicable safeguards. You can read Google’s Privacy Policy.
7. Your choices and rights
You may ask us to confirm whether we hold your personal information, request access to it, correct information that is inaccurate, object to certain processing, or request deletion where we are no longer authorised or required to retain it. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
You may also lodge a complaint with South Africa’s Information Regulator.
8. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice when our website, service providers or legal obligations change. The effective date above shows when this version took effect.
